Error Coins

Error Coins are coins that were made improperly, such as being struck off center, wrong planchet type, and missing mintmark.

One of the classic error coins is 1982 Roosevelt dime. The Roosevelt dime was first introduced in 1946. The coins didn’t carry mintmarks between 1965 and 1967 which was probably the reason why some of the coins produced in Philadelphia didn’t have P mintmark didn’t get noticed.
